READING STATION TEAM AWARDED SPECIAL AWARD AT NETWORK RAIL PARTNERSHIP AWARDS |
A special award to the team delivering the Reading Station Project (a mix of DeltaRail, Bechtel, Bam Nuttall, Jacobs, Buckingham Group, Reading Borough Council and First Great Western) was made by Network Rail at their third Partnership Awards event, held at the Natural History Museum in London on 13th July.
Six hundred representatives of the rail industry’s suppliers and partners gathered to hear Sir David Higgins, chief executive of Network Rail, praise their efforts and professionalism.
DeltaRail engineers worked through Christmas 2010 to deliver the major signalling control project at Reading. The new IECC control system for Reading comprises four workstations with Automatic Route-Setting (ARS) functionality to optimise train movements in and around the area.
In the programme for the event David Higgins said:
"These awards are an opportunity for Network Rail to recognise the contribution and support provided by our partners. Tonight we will celebrate your achievements over the past year, which have helped us build a better railway for Britain".
DeltaRail was a team member in four of the seven projects recommended for awards, and our IECC was the control system recommended in three of these four team awards. DeltaRail was also Highly Commended, together with Atkins and Carillion, for the North London Railway Infrastructure Project where new IECC systems were installed at Upminster. | |
